The research and development seeks to build an Internet-based application which will facilitate the implementation of research-based learning processes to improve the quality and completion of homework in middle and high school mathematics. Based on a combination of novel data distribution techniques and media capture and representation methods, synchronous communication modules are being implemented to support media-rich math problem solving sessions that includes handwritten solutions with instructional explanations. For teacher-parent-tutor interactions, communication mechanisms will be provided through the application’s repositories and homework subsystem.
